Only issue I have is that it keeps buffering. I have a strong connection but it buffers throughout the shows which ruins the mood or tone of the show. No network issues because other online videos play well with no issues. YouTube or Netflix for example. Please fix it. Previous comment was written over a month ago and the issues continue. Comments from others says that the issue’s been going on for years. Fix it HBO.

HBO has the worst app User interface I’ve ever seen. A true embarrassment. When I want to watch a show, I have to search it every time. I can’t add a series to the watch list, only individual episodes. And when you click on the episode, you can’t navigate to the next episode or the series page. This is true on all of their apps. You don’t need to hire a UI/UX designer. You just need common sense

I like HBO overall, however I am not pleased with the use of this app. There are a few reasons why. It doesn’t work well with Chromecast at all. Movies will constantly buffer. At times it will crash or not even connect. It has recently took 30-45 minutes to watch the last 15 minutes of a movie. As a fan of many documentaries and award winning shows your fans & customers deserve a better user interface. While I believe your app works great on newer installed smart televisions, not all of your fans like myself has one. I look forward to this issue being corrected in a near future update. Thank you.

Terrible app. Will not let me sign in to Verizon FiOS. Just goes to a blank screen. All the other providers seem to go to the sign in screen with no problem. I resent that I pay for the service but cannot use it on my tablet. Please fix!

Doesn’t work properly with Chromecast This is the only streaming app I use that has constant studders in the audio track while casting to Chromecast. I have used both old and new Chromecast devices as well as iPhone and Android HBO apps. It is simply broken and has been through several updates. Worthless for $10/month

Content is great. This app continuously glitches. This is true across ios and android. Its been happening for years its the single worst part of this app even though content is good, makes me not want to use it and quite often I just give up. These issues also apply to HBO GO via browser. Thanks guys, looking forwards to seeing a solution for this. #howauuyoungman

The app needs an option to reduce quality and bitrate for those not using wifi. It is often unwatchable due to constant buffering. I don’t need HD on a screen as small as my phone. Standard def would be fine for better play speed.

1/23/17 Loads episodes from oldest. Not too smart for weekly news shows. 1/24, 2/13, 3/30. Forces landscape orientation. I’d like to choose. 4/17- no updates or improvements. 6/17 for some reason it signs you out after updates. 9/30 still not fixed. 10/29 still broken. 12/18 no change. 1/2018 still needs sign ins. Boo.

Keeps saying content temporarily unavailable but the problem is that it never is available no matter how long you wait or update the app. I would expect such a better product from people like HBO.

Error message keeps popping up “we’re having trouble playing this video. Please try again later.” however, the content is practically never available- no matter how well your personal service is, how good your WiFi is, no matter if your app is up to date. The amount I pay for my hbo package I expect better.

Updated and now the app cannnot connect to HBO GO, says internet connection failed, with service error code, but i cant see the whole code, the prompt to restart app is in the way. Ugh…. My internet is working good, made sure.

HBO GO, is no where close to the ability of Hulu Or Netflix, Had HBO GO for a couple years the stability of the service is horrible and a year later no matter how I use HBO GO, it fails to operate as it should who ever runs this area of HBO Is pretty clueless as to how poor it is. Avoid dropped movies and passwords just get NETFLIX, HULU OR gees even Amazon provides a better service and quality. Years ago was the best, now just a shadow of what they were

App is terrible. It’s literally as though they found the climax of everything, be it tv or movies and make it buffer at that point. Its on all platforms to mobil/game console/tablet/computer. It’s great to have the site looking all pretty but when the actual video player sucks what’s the point. We all pay good money for HBO let’s see some effort on their part to bring it up to par with the 21st century

It only deserves a star because if the content. The interface is horrible, the server connection is incredibly poor and unreliable, the app breaks and crashes all the time requiring a full phone restart (not even manually stopping app will help). The Chromecast feature breaks at least once or twice everytime I use it, whether it’s the developers or the project managers, some retard needs to be fired or get their ass in order.

This is a super shity app. HBO’s android developers suck. They have a long way to go to catch Netflix. As a matter fact they should do something right for once and poach a Netflix developer. It has crazy problems every time you cast to Chromecast and you’re switching between episodes. I almost always have to force stop the app and sometimes even reboot the Chromecast because they’re Chromecast implementation is so poor.

Update: cannot log in with my provider. Says I do not have an hbo subscription even though I do, and am literally watching hbo on my tv while writing this. App will not let me log in with different credentials or another provider. Every time it just tries my previous info and tells me im not subscribed… Without a doubt 99% of the time when I open this app, it will crash. Most of the time after it says it crashed, it will crash again trying to close itself. even if it worked like it was designed, the design needs a lot of work. The netflix app is much better esp with chromecast. It will not save what ep or location you are on and pressing back takes u to the home screen. Also poor searching and layout options

No matter how much I free up my Wifi and refresh my connection (which is already top notch connection and speed) it still stutters and buffers. I now remember why I stopped and ended my subscription before. Looks like it has been this way for years and HBO can’t fix this. Not just me. Hopefully they can fix this some century.

App doesn’t link well with Chromecast. Loses connection often. I believe it’s a Chromecast issue. Chromecast doesn’t work well with many apps. Automatic play feature for the series would be nice

I can’t even log into my account anymore for time warner/ Spectrum. Every time I chose to log in the screen just goes black with the only option to go back. This seems to happen every update.

This is the worst streaming app I have ever used. It does not make it easy to keep watching shows I have been watching, instead of putting them in a netflix like queue on my home page so I can get to them easily, I have to search for them again. Auto play does not exist, so after I finish streaming one episode to my tv, I have to go find the next episode and deal with the sluggish app. Netflix set the gold standard for a streaming service, with the resources HBO has they should be able to match that standard if not exceed it. Its like they didn’t even try to make the experience personal, I always get the same generic whats new and popular with the rest of the world, but not what I care about. On a side note, the fact that HBO offers two different services and created two different apps is confusing. Why not just merge the two into one app and have one really good streaming app instead of two sub par apps? I get that HBO Now is a subscription service and that HBO Go comes with cable subscriptions which are probably managed completely differently on the back end, but come on guys. Make it easier on all of us and merge the apps, and make that app not suck.
